AskMeryamThese terms are between you and Deploy & Enjoy Ltd (company number 17371081) ("we"), the maker of AskMeryam. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.
What AskMeryam is, and is not
AskMeryam offers Islamic reflection, self-help tools, psychoeducation and an AI companion called Meryam. It is not a medical service, a substitute for a doctor, therapist or counsellor, or a source of religious rulings (fatwas). Meryam is an AI. She can be wrong, including about Islam, and her replies are not professional advice. For a religious ruling, ask a qualified scholar. For your health, speak to a qualified professional.
If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, call 999 (or your local emergency number) or Samaritans on 116 123. The app is not monitored in real time and cannot send help.
Your account
You must be 18 or older. Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time in Roots.
The community
When you post, message or join a group you agree to:
- speak gently, and not harass, threaten, shame or demean anyone;
- not give medical instructions or issue religious rulings;
- not post anything unlawful, sexual, hateful, or that encourages self-harm;
- not spam, advertise, or impersonate anyone.
You can report or block anyone. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, without notice where safety requires it. You keep ownership of what you post, and give us a licence to store and display it in the app so the features work.
Content in the app
The app's text, audio, design and code belong to us or our licensors. Qur'anic translations and recitations are used with attribution to their sources. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial benefit.
Your free week and AskMeryam Plus
Your first 7 days are free, with no card needed; they start the first time you open the app. After that, the app's features need an AskMeryam Plus subscription: £4.99 a month or £34.99 a year (prices may vary by country and are shown before you pay). SOS and the crisis lines are never behind the subscription.
- In the app, subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). They renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple ID or Google Play settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- On askmeryam.com, subscriptions are billed by our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the link in your receipt; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Your right to cancel (UK). When you buy on the web you have 14 days to cancel and get a refund. Because Plus starts immediately, you agree that it begins straight away and that if you cancel within those 14 days we may keep a proportionate amount for the days you had it.
- Sponsor a year is a one-off payment that gives a year of Plus to someone who asked for hardship access. It is not refundable once given.
- We will tell you in advance, in the app and by email, before any price change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
Can't afford it? Email us — no one who needs AskMeryam is turned away.
Changes to the app
We may change, add or remove features. We will tell you in the app before anything you rely on is taken away.
Liability
We work hard to make AskMeryam accurate and safe, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the app or for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
